Hakone Open-Air Museum

While staying at our ryokan in Hakone, we decided to venture out during the day to the greater Hakone area to check out the open air art museum. Having loved exhibits from teamlab in Japan and Mercer Labs in New York, we were excited to see what Hakone could offer.

Our early head start was well intentioned but the travel gods had other plans. While the day began with a broken-down bus, it ended up being a wonderful day of art and exploration.

Even the walk to the museum was interesting. Vending machines are everywhere in Japan, even in random Hakone neighborhoods.
